Kettlebells are now mainstream – but not all classes are equal
Kettlebells are now part of mainstream fitness. Yet most people and trainers don’t use this deceptively simple tool properly.
Without proper instruction, you can’t reap the benefits of kettlebell training. Frustrated, disappointed or injured you may give up kettlebell training entirely.
To safely and efficiently achieve your fitness goals with kettlebells you need the right instructor.
Colin Wilson
I’ve attended Ralph’s class for a few years now and it has taken me to a new level of both fitness and strength.
Hardstyle Kettlebell Training
Don’t let the macho-sounding name put you off. Hardstyle kettlebell training isn’t a Bootcamp style go ‘til you drop workout. Of course, it can be challenging. But Hardstyle training emphasizes good quality technique over quantity.
Other kettlebell training styles have other goals. The Hardstyle goal is to use the safest and most efficient methods to maximise the physical benefits of kettlebell training. Physical benefits that transfer to sports, leisure and daily life.
If you’ve tried other kettlebell classes, you’ll be surprised at how different Hardstyle kettlebell training is.
Which kettlebell class is for me?
Never picked up a kettlebell before? The beginners’ class is for you. It’s also a great place to start if you’ve never had proper instruction. And because it’s less intense it is ideal if you are out of shape and looking to make a change.
If you have some quality kettlebell experience, you’ll want to join the intermediate class. It’ll take your skills and conditioning to the next level.

Ralph’s classes are fun and friendly, he takes time to explain and demonstrate each movement and is very encouraging. I would definitely recommend giving it a go!

Ralph starts you off at your level and gradually builds up your technique and skill level. Surprisingly quickly you will feel the benefit of much greater flexibility and strength in your normal daily life.
Can kettlebell training help me lose weight?
Yes. But the most important factor in weight loss success is diet. Kettlebell training will help you lose that unwanted fat – but good nutrition comes first.
Kettlebells can help you achieve the body you want.
To lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit. And kettlebells will help you achieve that crucial calorie deficit in two powerful ways
- A short, intense kettlebell session will burn a huge number of calories
- Dieting can cause muscle loss. Kettlebells build strength and encourage muscle retention even in a calorie deficit. And more muscle burns more calories.
And as you shed the fat, kettlebells will sculpt your body to reveal toned muscles underneath.
Will kettlebell training give me muscles like a bodybuilder?
No. Kettlebell training makes you strong, lean and athletic. Think functional strength. Think Jason Stratham. N
